Connexions Dudley can provide an extensive package of support related to Careers Information Advice and Guidance. From September 2012 the Education Act 2011 placed schools under a duty to secure access to independent and impartial careers guidance for Year 9 to 11 pupils, and the Careers Guidance in Schools Regulations 2013 extended the age range to which the duty applies to include all registered pupils in Years 8, 12 and 13.

This change allows young people to access independent, impartial information and advice at more key transition points, and supports the new requirement for young people to remain in education or training until their 18th birthday as part of Raising the Participation Age.

Careers guidance will be captured within the new arrangements for Ofsted inspection, considering how well-informed pupils are about their options in school and onto the next stage of their education, training and employment.

Connexions Dudley can support your school to ensure that it demonstrates good practice to Ofsted. All Connexions Dudley Personal Advisers are fully qualified to at least QCF Level 6 (NVQ Level 4) in Career Guidance and Development, have enhanced DBS clearance and receive safeguarding training. They have a minimum of three years’ experience of working with a broad range of young people, and have extensive knowledge of labour market information and options both within the Dudley borough and further afield.
